We welcome you to the Swedish Website on Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) of models and simulation results, maintained in co-operation by the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI, Totalförsvarets Forskningsinstitut) and the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV, Försvarets Materielverk).

The information provided on this site is interesting for you, if

• you are going to use a simulation model and are concerned about its validity with respect to your intended purpose of use;

• you provide a simulation model or simulation results and need to increase their trustworthiness;

• you look for an information resource to improve your own VV&A knowledge.

Context

VV&A research and implemetation at FOI and FMV is solidly based on the results of international co-operations within the context to the Western European Armament Group (WEAG), the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and its Partnership for Peace (PfP), and other international organizations. Their scientific foundations stem from a variety of conferences, journal publications, and text books on Modeling and Simulation (M&S), adjusted, modified, and refined after leassons learned during practical application. However, do not expect to find here the one and only ultimate approach to the solution of your VV&A task. There are still too many unknowns in the whole VV&A methodology which prohibit the delivery of such an information source at the current state of the art.
